El artículo determinado "The" en inglés es invariable. (No tiene género ni número). Su significado: el, la, lo, los las.
The cinema – el cine
The table – la mesa
The girls – las chicas
Se omite en plural cuando se habla en general:
Girls are beautiful – todas las chicas (en general) son bonitas
También se omite en fórmulas hechas o cuando se habla de lugares públicos.
She’s at school
My sister is at work
It´s better if you say:
