John Lennon John Winston Lennon (9 October 1940 – 8 December 1980) was an English musician and singer-songwriter who rose to worldwide fame as one of the founding members of The Beatles, one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed acts in the history of popular music. Along with fellow Beatle Paul McCartney, he formed one of the most successful songwriting partnerships of the 20th century. Born and raised in Liverpool, Lennon became involved as a teenager in the skiffle craze; his first band, The Quarrymen, evolved into The Beatles in 1960. As the group disintegrated towards the end of the decade, Lennon embarked on a solo career that produced the critically acclaimed albums John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band and Imagine, and iconic songs such as "Give Peace a Chance" and "Imagine". After his marriage to Yoko Ono in 1969, he changed his name to John Ono Lennon. Lennon disengaged himself from the music business in 1975 to devote time to his infant son Sean, but re-emerged in 1980 with a new album, Double Fantasy. He was murdered three weeks after its release. Lennon revealed a rebellious nature and acerbic wit in his music, his writing, his drawings, on film, and in interviews, becoming controversial through his political and peace activism. He moved to New York City in 1971, where his criticism of the Vietnam War resulted in a lengthy attempt by Richard Nixon's administration to deport him, while some of his songs were adopted as anthems by the anti-war movement. As of 2010, Lennon's solo album sales in the United States exceed 14 million units, and as writer, co-writer or performer, he is responsible for 25 number-one singles on the US Hot 100 chart. In 2002, a BBC poll on the 100 Greatest Britons voted him eighth, and in 2008, Rolling Stone ranked him the fifth-greatest singer of all-time. He was posthumously inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. If you like we can sing the song all together.

LA POBLACIÓN Y LAS ACTIVIDADES ECONÓMICAS DE EUROPA Y ESPAÑA

1.- La población de Europa y España.

      * Características
Europa. 700 millones de habitantes.
España. 47 millones de habitantes
- Baja natalidad.
- Alta esperanza de vida.

      * Distribución
- Población urbana. 7 de cada 10 europeos viven en la ciudad.
En  España 8 de cada diez personas  viven en la ciudad
- La densidad de población media es de 70 hab/ km cuadrado
En España la densidad es de 93hab/km cuadrado.
 

      * Las migraciones
En Europa predomina la inmigración.
Con mayor número de inmigrantes: Rusia, Alemania, Reino Unido, Francia y España.
Efectos de la inmigración:
- Crecimiento de la población.
- Crecimiento de la población activa.
- Multiculturalidad

2.- El sector primario en Europa y en España.

En Europa 5 de cada 100 personas trabajan en el sector primario.
En España 4 de cada 100
 

     * La agricultura es la actividad del sector primario que  a más personas ocupa en Europa
 - Muy modernizada
- Zonas: La gran llanura Europea y  Rusia.
               La Cuenca del Mediterráneo.
- En España predomina la agricultura de la Europa Mediterránea, que alterna el cultivo de secano con el de regadio.

     * La ganadería es la segunda actividad que a más personas ocupa en este sector.
En Europa se da la ganaderia intensiva en el norte y centro con el ganado bovino, ovino y porcino y la extensiva en la cuenca mediterránea con ganado bovino y ovino.
En España se da el porcino y el ovino principalmente.
 

     * La pesca
Los caladeros europeos se están agotando y solo quedan los del mar del Norte y el  Ártico.
A  pesar de todo Europa es la tercera potencia mundial en pesca.
España no solo tiene importancia en Europa sino en el mundo entero.
En España conviven la pesca de bajura con la de altura.

     * La explotación forestal .
-  Se da en el Norte de Europa: Noruega, Suecia y Finlandia.

    * La mineria.
-  Carbón en Reino Unido, Alemania y Polonia.
-  Hierro en Suecia, Francia y Ucrania
-  Petróleo y gas en Noruega y Rusia

3.- El sector secundario en Europa y en España

Ocupa a  27 de cada 100 hab.
En España a 22 hab.

     * La industria
- Europa es uno de los continentes más industrializados.
En España 14 de cada 100 personas trabaja en la industria.
- Según los productos que se obtienen  tenemos:
. Industria de base. Fabrica productos para otras industrias. (siderúrgica y metalúrgica)
. Industria de bienes de equipo (maquinaria, herramientas, material de transporte, madera...)
. Industria de bienes de consumo (alimentaria, farmacéutica, electrónica, automóvil y textil)

4.- Sector terciario.

- En Europa ocupa a 68 de cada 100 trabajadores.
 En España 74

     * El comercio en Europa y en España
- Hay un comercio interior y uno exterior.
- El interior, a su vez, puede ser mayorista o minorista.
 

     * El transporte
- Terrestre, marítimo y aéreo.

     * El turismo
- Europa es el principal destino turístico mundial.
- Hay distintos tipos de turismo:  de sol y playa, rural, cultural y deportivo o de aventura.
En España 12 de cada 100 hab trabajan en turismo.
