1.- EL AGUA

OBJETIVOS

1. Learning the distribution and characteristics of the hydrosphere. Características de la hidrosfera.

2. Explaining the circulation of water and changes of state during the water cycle . Ciclo del agua.

3.  Saving water. Ahorrando agua.

CONTENIDOS

-     CONCEPTS:

·        The hydrosphere. La hidrosfera.

·       The water cycle. El ciclo del agua.

-     PROCEDURES

·       Explain the stages of the water cycle. Estados del ciclo del agua.

·       Identify the movement of water in the oceans. Movimiento del agua en los océanos.

-     ATITTUDES

Understand the importance of saving water . Lo importante de ahorrar agua.

ACTIVIDADES

Siempre, que sea posible,  comenzaremos con actividades de calentamiento,en todos los temas,  que nos servirán de motivación para los distintos enfoques.

1.- Raindrops

• Take a clear, plastic lid and eyedropper.With the concave surface of the lid facing up, squeeze a few drops of water onto the inside of the lid.Then, turn the lid over quickly. (Necesitaremos una tapadera de plático limpia y un cuentagotas. Con la superficie de la tapa cóncava hacia arriba, exprimiremos unas pocas gotas de agua dentro de la tapa. Después, giraremos la tapa muy rápido) Les preguntaremos qué ocurre si recogemos las gotas de agua es un mismo lugar con un lápiz.  La respuesta será que forman grandes gotas y después caen.

• Ask: What happens if you collect the drops of water in one place with a pencil point? (they form bigger drops, then fall) Demonstrate using a pencil. Explain that in the water cycle drops of water collect in cloud. Raindrops formand fall to the ground.

2.- The water cicle:

clouds and water vapour condensation evaporation precipitation river ocean.

En cartulina o papel continuo pintaremos un paisaje donde plasmaremos el ciclo del agua con flechas y otros recursos. En pequeños trozos de cartulina escribiremos el vocabulario  subrayado para después ir colocándolo sobre el mural mientras explican el ciclo del agua.

Es importante no olvidar hablarles de los diferentes estados que presenta el agua durante the water cicle. Liquid, solid, gas.

3.- It´s your turn:

Por grupos pueden hacerse estas preguntas y elaborar un pequeño texto desarrollando sus respuestas. Servirá posteriormente para la producción oral del tema.

·       Why is it important to save water?

·        What do you do to save water?

  Water is scarce in many parts of the Earth.

To save water:

-       turn off the tap when you clean your teeth, take showers and not baths…

3.- Waves, Tides and Ocean currents.

Sobre una superficie rígida podemos modelar,  con plastilina de colores, un paisaje donde aparezca  representado el vocabulario referente  a the movement of the water. Más tarde contaremos a nuestros compañeros,  que es lo que representa nuestro paísaje.

CRITERIOS DE EVALUACIÓN

1.- Conocer el vocabulario referente al ciclo del agua  y utilizarlo para hablar de él.

2.- Comprender la necesidad del agua y de que es algo muy valioso.

3.- Saber cuáles son los movimientos del agua y conocer el vocabulario específico de dicho tema.

MATERIAL NECESARIO

-     Papel continuo.

-     Cartulinas.

-     Lápices,  boligrafos, rotuladores...

-     Folios.

-     Plastilina.

-     Tapadera de plástico

-     Cuentagotas.
